The following is a general statement respecting Q9's Personal Information Protection Policy for personal information collected, used and disclosed by Q9 in conjunction with the conduct of its business. This policy does not override legislative or voluntary codes of conduct, where such legislation or code exists, and is applicable to Q9's management of personal information.
With respect to its customers, Q9 collects, uses and discloses information of certain representatives of its customers - including personal information provided to Q9 by its customers or on behalf of its customers - only in accordance with the instruction of the customer.
Regarding visitors to Q9's data centres, Q9 collects and uses the personal information of its visitors for access and site security purposes only. Personal information in this respect is collected and used in accordance with a visitor's consent, Q9's Data Centre Access Policy, Q9's Biometric Data Policy and applicable federal and provincial privacy laws and regulations.
Q9 collects and retains personal information for internal security and business audit purposes only, unless you have consented to a different use for such information. All such information within Q9's possession is protected by security procedures and policies, including physical, organizational and technological measures.
When you share personal information with Q9, that information will be used only in direct connection with the purpose for which it was provided. If additional use of your information is required, Q9 will specifically ask your approval. Q9 will not share your personal information with a third party unless your specific approval is provided or unless Q9 is required to disclose your personal information in response to a court order or other legal obligation and Q9 will then only do so in accordance with the provisions of applicable privacy laws and regulations.
