Q9 Networks Inc. Appoints Tim Price and the Rt. Hon. John N. Turner, Q.C. to Its Board of Directors
Toronto, ON - April 29, 2004 - Q9 Networks Inc. (TSX: Q) is pleased to announce that Tim Price and the Rt. Hon. John N. Turner have been appointed as independent members of its Board of Directors.
Tim Price is the Chairman of Brascan Financial Corporation and served previously as Chairman of the boards of directors of The Edper Group Limited and Hees International Bancorp Inc. Tim has had over 30 years of management experience with the Brascan Group of companies. Tim received his BA in 1964 from the University of Victoria and his CA in Quebec in 1969. Tim is active on several other public corporate boards: Astral Media Inc., Morguard Corporation and Nexfor Inc. In the community, he serves on the York University Board of Governors, the St. Michael's Hospital Foundation Board and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation Board. He is also President of the Mad River Golf Club.
The Rt. Hon. John N. Turner is a partner in the Toronto office of Miller Thomson LLP, a law firm. Mr. Turner is called to the Bars of Gray's Inn, London, Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. Mr. Turner enjoyed a distinguished 25-year career as a Member of the Parliament of Canada during which he represented three provinces, Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. During his tenure in Parliament he served in a number of portfolios including: Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Minister of Finance, Prime Minister of Canada and Leader of the Opposition. Mr. Turner was appointed a Companion of the Order of Canada in 1995. Mr. Turner is a director of several Canadian and U.S. public companies.
