Q9's Toronto Data Centre Approaches Capacity in Less Than 48 Months; Company Announces Opening of Expanded Facility to Meet Demand

Toronto, ON - September 22, 2004 - Q9 Networks Inc. (TSX:Q), a leading provider of outsourced Internet infrastructure services, is pleased to announce the expansion of its downtown Toronto data centre. The expansion, which adds capacity of approximately 300 cabinet equivalents, is state-of-the-art and has already attracted its first customers. It enables Q9 to meet continued strong demand from organizations with mission-critical data and Internet applications.

Q9's downtown Toronto data centre, which opened in October 2000, quickly set the standard for Internet data centre security and reliability in Canada. The centre attracted some of Canada's best-known and most highly respected firms, including Fairmont Hotels, Indigo Books & Music and TD Securities. Less than 48 months after opening, the original centre is nearly at capacity.

Building on this success, the expanded facility provides the same complete suite of standard and custom services that give clients a range of options when determining Internet and application infrastructure needs. Services include physical space, bandwidth and managed products that address requirements for network security, data storage and disaster recovery.

Like all Q9 data centres, the new expansion is highly secure, equipped with biometric security systems, video surveillance, on-site security officers and anti-hostage entrances. It operates independently of base building services with highly redundant power, HVAC and fire-suppression systems.

Customers connect to the Internet via Q9's unique network and are protected by Q9's 100 percent, SLA-backed uptime guarantees on power and network availability. Customer equipment and the facility's environment are monitored 24x7 by Q9's Toronto and Calgary Network Operations Centres, staffed by experts versed in all aspects of IT and facilities management.
