Designed to provide flawless operation in the face of any eventuality, Q9's state-of-the-art, high-security facilities offer flexible, safe and scalable homes for companies who depend on their IT operations as a critical part of their business strategy.

Hardened perimeter (guard stations, reinforced walls, anti-hostage entrances)
7 x 24 on-site security officers
Archived video surveillance
Biometric access controls
Security access reports

Q9 data centres utilize advanced security measures to ensure that your systems are protected at all times. A hardened perimeter, comprised of reinforced walls and bulletproof glass at key entry points, represents just the first point of defense. Security officers are present 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. A complex network of video cameras blankets each facility and archives all activity. Access to each data centre is controlled by biometric scanners and protected by highly secure entrances. Customers have direct and unannounced access to their equipment in a Q9 data centre, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

At least two high voltage feeds from public power grid
Redundant UPS back-up (30+ minutes of full power to each facility)
Redundant power generators set to engage less than 60 seconds after power interruption
Internal power distribution network delivers two independent power sources to every customer space

The Q9 power distribution network provides continuous, computer-grade power 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Each data centre receives high-voltage feeds directly from the public power grid which are independent of base building power systems. Redundant UPS systems and high-capacity power generators complete the loop and allow for regular maintenance without interrupting customer power. Simply put, Q9 facilities are up and running at all times.

Independent of city and building power and water
Minimum N+1 redundancy
Temperature and humidity held within strict tolerances

Designed to keep your equipment operating at peak efficiency, Q9 data centres are equipped with advanced climate control systems. Temperature and humidity are constantly monitored and controlled to exacting standards. All HVAC systems are fully independent of city and building water and power, fully redundant and engineered to operate each facility at 100% capacity even in the event of a component failure.

Extensive, zoned, very early smoke detection system (VESDA)
Advanced fire suppression using a clean agent suppression system and/or a dry-pipe, pre-action sprinkler system

In addition to conventional smoke detection systems, Q9 data centres employ the world's most reliable early warning smoke detection system - VESDA - throughout the facilities. The VESDA system provides the earliest possible warning of a potential fire, ensuring the security of our customers' equipment

Q9 data centres also employ advanced fire suppression using a clean agent suppression system and/or a dry-pipe, pre-action sprinkler system.
